1Who we are

Trademark Inspection Services, Inc. is a property inspection company based at 15712 Farmington Road, Livonia, Michigan 48154. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at (734) 331-3269, info@trademarkinspectionservices.com, or by post at the address above.

This policy covers this website, www.trademarkinspectionservices.com. Booking an inspection takes you to our scheduling software on a different address, and the information you enter there is held in that system rather than on this website.

2What we collect

Information you give us. Every form on this site is one you choose to fill in. Depending on which one, that can include:

• your name, email address, phone number and the city you are in;
• your résumé or CV, if you apply for a job through one of our application pages;
• your real estate license number, if you claim continuing-education credit for one of our classes, so that the credit can be filed on your behalf;
• anything you choose to write in a comments, feedback or survey field.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records technical details of your visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the site or search that sent you. This comes from our web server logs and from Google Analytics.

3How we use it

We use what you give us to do the thing you asked for — answer a question, book or service an inspection, consider a job application, or file a continuing-education credit. We use the automatic information to keep the site working, to keep it secure, and to understand which pages people find useful.

If you have asked us to, or if you are a client or a real estate professional we work with, we may send you occasional email about our services. Every one of those has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just tell us to stop.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.

4Who else sees it

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only so far as they need it. The ones that touch information from this website are:

• SiteGround — hosts this website and keeps its server and security logs.
• Google — provides Google Analytics, which records the visit information described above.
• Automattic — provides Akismet, which checks form submissions for spam and to do that receives the content of the submission and the IP address it came from.
• Our email provider — delivers the messages our forms send to us and the confirmations we send back to you.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or to protect the safety of any person.

5Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies to keep pages working, to speed them up, and to run Google Analytics.

We want to be straight with you about one thing: this site does not currently show a cookie consent banner, so analytics cookies are set when you arrive. If you would rather they were not, either of these works and neither depends on us:

• set your browser to refuse or delete cookies — every major browser can do this, though some site features may work less well;
• install Google’s own Analytics opt-out add-on, which stops Google Analytics on this site and every other one.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not currently respond to it.

6How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we have a reason to. Inspection records are kept for the period our professional obligations require. Job applications are kept while the role is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case something else suits. Continuing-education records are kept as long as we may need to evidence that a credit was filed. General enquiries are kept while the conversation is live and for a while after.

If you would like something deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it unless we are required to keep it.

7How we protect it

This site is served over HTTPS, sits behind server-level security monitoring, and access to form submissions is limited to the people at Trademark Inspection Services, Inc. who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if personal information held by us is ever compromised, we will notify the people affected as required by Michigan’s Identity Theft Protection Act.

8Your choices

Whatever state you are in, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
• stop sending you marketing email.

We offer these because they are reasonable, not because a Michigan statute compels them. Email info@trademarkinspectionservices.com or call (734) 331-3269 and we will deal with it. We may need to check who you are first, so that we are not handing your information to somebody else.

If you live somewhere with its own privacy law that gives you further rights, tell us and we will honour them.

9Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at info@trademarkinspectionservices.com and we will delete it.

10Other sites we link to

We link to other companies — our scheduling software, trades we are asked to recommend, and reference sites such as InterNACHI and the EPA. Once you leave this site you are on somebody else’s, under their privacy policy, not ours.

11Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page is when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will do more than quietly update the page.
