What to Expect with Your Home Inspection

At Trademark Inspection Services, we take pride in the expertise of our inspectors. While Michigan does not license home inspectors, we prioritize ongoing education and high standards of competency. That’s why every inspector on our team earns certification through InterNACHI—the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

We follow InterNACHI’s Standards of Practice for every home buyer’s inspection. This means your inspection receives consistent care and thoroughness—from roof to foundation and everything in between.

Purchasing a home is a major investment, and we do everything we can to provide peace of mind. Since unexpected issues can arise after move-in, every Home Buyers Inspection includes a FREE 30-Day Home Warranty from Guard Home Warranty.

Every home is unique and every buyer has specific concerns and priorities. That’s why we encourage buyers to attend the inspection, have a list of concerns, and ask questions. All of our inspectors strive to make sure the buyer feels confident in their decisions, providing them with a comprehensive report, understanding concerns, and answering any questions the buyer may have.

When it comes to a home inspection, don’t expect any less than excellence. Give Trademark Inspection Services a call today at 734.331.3269 to begin scheduling.

Questions we are asked

  • Should I be there for the whole inspection?

You are welcome to be. Many buyers arrive toward the end for a walk-through of the findings, which is the most useful part. Either way you will see the issues in place rather than only in photographs.

  • Does the inspector move furniture or open walls?

No. A home inspection is visual and non-invasive. Anything hidden behind stored belongings, finished surfaces or snow cover is reported as not inspected rather than guessed at.

  • Will the inspection tell me what repairs will cost?

No. We report the condition of the home; pricing repairs is a contractor’s job, and quoting figures we have not scoped would not serve you well in a negotiation.

  • What if the weather is bad on inspection day?

Snow on the roof or standing water limits what can be assessed, and anything not inspected is reported as such rather than assumed. In deep winter a roof may be worth a second look in spring.
